Waivers & Friend Requests

Now that you’ve registered for a camp, you’ll want to ensure all your paperwork is done before the first day of camp. Prior to the start of your camp, you will receive an email with a link to CampFax (https://winsport.campfax.com/) where all our online waivers exist. Complete all the paperwork under your camp. If you’ve attended previous camps or programs at WinSport and already have a CampFax account, we require your information to be updated annually so you will have to fill out new waivers before this summer.

If your child would like to be in the same group as a friend, please let us know this information through CampFax.

Please note that the CampFax completed waiver only pertains to that week’s registered Summer Camp. Participation in any WinSport summer camp is subject to the execution of WinSport's Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks, and Indemnity Agreement, and/or such other applicable waiver or release of liability (the "Waiver") by the summer camp participant or their parent or legal guardian (in the event of a minor). In the event such Waiver is not completed, the participant may not participate in the summer camp.

Off-site activities, other WinSport camps and Rented equipment will have to have another waiver completed. Rental waivers for bikes will need to be completed in person on the first day of camp. If you have booked a bike rental prior to checking in for your mountain bike camp, you will need to visit the Rental Shop in the Frank King Day Lodge on the first morning. For rental bikes in Adventure Bound, Calgary Landmarks Tour and Bikes & Blades camps, your rental waiver will be completed at check-in and your instructor will take your child to the rental shop to pick up their bike.

Lunches

If you are looking to save time and ensure your child has the right number of calories for the day, you can participate in our lunch program as an add-on to your camp. These menus were collaboratively built by our sport and culinary teams to provide your child the calories they need throughout the day. We do suggest providing some small snacks and a refillable water bottle to complement our lunch program.

If you haven’t already purchased lunch for the week of your child’s camp and you would like to do so, call our Guest Services team at 403-247-5452 ext. 4. To see what we have to offer please visit our menu below.

If you have any specific dietary needs or issues these can be added in Campfax and our team will work with our culinary team to provide your child, the necessary options. We would ask that you confirm these needs at check-in so our team can confirm we received the information and are able to meet your needs.

NOTE: when packing lunches and snacks please remember that all of our camps are a nut free zone.

2019 WinSport Summer Camps - Know Before You Go

Please send the following items in a small backpack with two shoulder straps. They will need to carry their pack throughout the day. Note that each morning groups will assess what equipment they require to pack each day and will carry that equipment for the duration

  • Comfortable clothes that can get very dirty and are appropriate for the weather. If it is cold or raining, please avoid cotton clothing. Cotton is great for beautiful sunny summer days. Fleece, wool and synthetic fibers stay warm when wet.
  • Sturdy closed toe shoes that can get wet and dirty
  • Raingear or poncho if significant rain is in the forecast
  • Lunch (We do not allow sharing of food due to allergy risks.)
  • Mid-morning snack
  • Full water bottle or hydration pack (1-litre minimum, larger kids may need 2 liters)
  • Sun protection or Sunblock – apply before camp
  • Bug repellant if desired (herbal based, as opposed to DEET-based, is encouraged)
  • Extra layer or rain gear for cold, damp weather. Synthetic or wool is better than cotton.
  • Optionally bring a knife that meets specifications** otherwise WinSport will provide a knife for use.

An important notes about knives

Please send your child with a sharp, fixed blade with sheath and a blade 4” or shorter. NO SERRATION. Serrated blades are not good for carving projects and are difficult to sharpen. Knife safety will be taught, and campers will be supervised in their use. Folding “pocket” knives are not allowed at our camps.
