Winter sports can be a lifelong activity; whether you are 5 or 70, you can enjoy the slopes in the winter. These girls-only programs provide a positive and encouraging space for participants to learn and build friendships with likeminded people.

These lesson are two hours long and include hill access for your lesson time.

Levels can be repeated to refine and consolidate skills.

Fearless Females Snowboard - Level 1

No previous snowboarding experience is required in our Super Sliders level 1 program. We use fun snowboarding-related games and tactics to provide an engaging and active introduction to snowboarding and develop a lifelong love of the sport. Participants will learn how to control speed and change direction. Level 1 may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation.

Pre-requisites

  • No previous snowboarding experience required
  • Able to remain active for 2 hours.

Key Goals

  • Comfortably move around while strapped in
  • Stop by using toe and heel edge
  • Make small directional changes (zigzagging)

Equipment Required

Dress in layers so you can adjust your temperature for hill conditions and stay dry. Come wearing the following items for a successful lesson experience:

  • Buff or face covering
  • CWSAA approved Snow Sport Helmet
  • Goggles
  • Base layers made of moisture-wicking fabric
  • Winter jacket
  • Waterproof snow pants
  • Wool socks
  • Gloves/mittens
  • Neck warmer
  • Snowboard boots
  • Snowboard with metal edges

Fearless Females Snowboard - Level 2

Students continue building from the level 1 skills as they learn how to complete their toe and heel side turns while maintaining a strong athletic body position. Level 2 may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation .

Pre-requisites

Successfully completed Level 1 or have the ability to complete all key goals outlined in Level 1.

Able to:

  • Comfortably move around while strapped in
  • Stop by using toe and heel edge
  • Make small directional changes (zigzagging)

Key Goals

  • Complete turns on heel and toe sides
  • Show a strong, athletic position on board
  • Control speed and direction on green terrain

Equipment Required

Dress in layers so you can adjust your temperature for hill conditions and stay dry. Come wearing the following items for a successful lesson experience:

Fearless Females Snowboard - Level 3

Students start riding on steeper terrain while learning how to confidently link toe and heel side turns at higher speeds. This program progresses from beginner to intermediate level of riding. Level 3 may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation .

Pre-requisites

Successfully completed Level 2 or have the ability to complete all key goals outlined in Level 2.

Able to:

  • Control speed and direction on green terrain
  • Start using the chairlift

Key Goals

  • Comfortably ride from top to bottom while carrying out various skill drills, such as carved traverses
  • Continuously link toe and heel side turns of varying size

This program focuses on refining fundamental skills and equipping students with the tools to ride any terrain confidently. Develops strong heel and toe side turning on intermediate terrain and allows participants to ride all kinds of terrain with ease. Level 4 may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation.

Pre-requisites

Successfully completed Level 3 or have the ability to complete all key goals outlined in Level 3

Previous introduction to carving

Able to:

Link turns with smooth flow and rhythm on green/blue terrain
Comfortably ride at higher speeds

Key Goals

  • Work on refined edge control and carving
  • Instill skills and confidence to attempt any terrain
