Ages 7 - 13

Watch your child's passion for snowboarding take off in our Super Shredders snowboard programs. These lessons are for kids to have a blast on snow, gain confidence, improve their riding skills, and build friendships in a safe learning environment.

Super Shredders Snowboard lessons are two hours long and include hill access for your lesson time.

All levels may be repeated to help build a solid foundation and allow your child to develop their skills at their own pace in a safe learning environment. Each program will begin by revisiting key goals from the previous level on more challenging terrain.

Super Shredders - First Time

No previous snowboarding experience is required in our Super Shredders First Time program. We use fun snowboarding-related games and tactics to provide an engaging and active introduction to snowboarding and develop a lifelong love of the sport. Participants will learn to love learning to ride.

Pre-requisites

No previous snowboarding experience required. Able to remain active for two hours.

Key Goals

  • Become comfortable putting on your snowboard and moving about on flat and gently sloped terrain
  • Introduced to magic carpet lift and how to control speed using heel and toe edge

Equipment Required

Dress in layers so participants can adjust your temperature for hill conditions and stay dry.

Come wearing the following items for a successful lesson experience:

  • Buff or face covering
  • Snow sports helmet (no hockey/bike helmets)
  • Goggles
  • Base layers made of moisture-wicking fabric
  • Winter jacket
  • Waterproof snow pants
  • Wool socks
  • Gloves/mittens

Super Shredders - Beginner 1

We use fun snowboarding-related games and tactics to provide an engaging and active introduction to snowboarding and develop a lifelong love of the sport. Participants will learn how to control speed and change direction. Beginner 1 may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation.

  • Have been snowboarding once or twice.
  • Familiar with equipment and moving about on flat and gently sloped terrain.

  • Comfortably move around while strapped in
  • Stop by using toe and heel edge
  • Make small directional changes (zigzagging)

Super Shredders - Novice 2

Students continue building from the Beginner 1 skills as they learn how to complete their toe and heel side turns while maintaining a strong athletic body position.

Novice 2 may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation.

Pre-requisites

Successfully completed Beginner 1 or have the ability to complete all key goals outlined in Beginner 1.

Able to:

  • Comfortably move around while strapped in
  • Stop by using toe and heel edge
  • Make small directional changes (zigzagging)

Key Goals

  • Complete turns on heel and toe sides
  • Show a strong, athletic position on board
  • Control speed and direction on green terrain

Equipment Required

Dress in layers so participants can adjust your temperature for hill conditions and stay dry.

Super Shredders - Intermediate 3

Students start riding on steeper terrain while learning how to confidently link toe and heel side turns at higher speeds. This program progresses from beginner to intermediate level of riding. Intermediate 3 may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation.

Pre-requisites

Successfully completed Novice 2 or have the ability to complete all key goals outlined in Novice 2.

Able to:

  • Control speed and direction on Green terrain
  • Start using the chairlift

Key Goals

  • Comfortably ride from top to bottom while carrying out various skill drills, such as carved traverses
  • Continuously link toe and heel side turns of varying size

Super Shredders - Intermediate 4

This program focuses on refining fundamental skills and equipping students with the tools to ride any terrain confidently. Develops strong heel and toe side turning on intermediate terrain and allows participants to ride all kinds of terrain with ease. Intermediate 4 may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation.

Pre-requisites

Successfully completed Intermediate 3 or have the ability to complete all key goals outlined in Intermediate 3. Previous introduction to carving.

Able to:

  • Link turns with smooth flow and rhythm on Green/Blue terrain
  • Comfortably ride at higher speeds

Key Goals

  • Work on refined edge control and carving
  • Build skills and confidence to attempt any terrain
