NEW! This winter we are expanding our Women’s Wednesday offering to include a younger demographic.

Winter sports can be a lifelong activity; whether you are 5 or 70, you can enjoy the slopes in the winter. These girls-only programs provide a positive and encouraging space for participants to learn and build friendships with likeminded people.

These lesson are two hours long and include hill access for your lesson time.

Levels can be repeated to refine and consolidate skills.

Girls Night Snowboard - Level Beginner

Grasp the basics and learn how to be safe on the hill before progressing to the next level. Start by learning the fundamental skills and gain confidence on beginner terrain as you learn how to control your speed and change direction. Level 1 groups aim to use the chairlift by the last lessons, but will only be used it if the skill level of the group allows.

Pre-requisites

No previous snowboarding experience required

Key Goals

  • CWSAA approved Snow Sport Helmet
  • Goggles
  • Base layers made of moisture-wicking fabric
  • Winter jacket
  • Waterproof snow pants
  • Wool socks
  • Gloves/mittens
  • Neck warmer
  • Snowboard boots
  • Snowboard with metal edges

Girls Night Snowboard - Level Intermediate

Develop more intermediate riding skills and techniques. Learn how to snowboard more challenging terrain confidently while maintaining an athletic body position and demonstrating edge control.

Pre-requisites

  • Comfortably link turns
  • Ride the chairlift

Key Goals

  • Make complete stops on toe and heel edge
  • Link complete toe and heel side turns
  • Build confidence on a snowboard and feel in control in a new environment
  • Introduce the chairlift

Girls Night Snowboard - Level Advanced

Refine advanced snowboarding skills as you carve steeper runs, reach higher speeds, and develop various terrain techniques with your certified instructor. Features such as small jumps, bumps, and rollers may also be introduced at this level, depending on the group's interests.

Pre-requisites

  • Able to confidently ride intermediate/chairlift terrain
  • Complete toe and heel side turns on steeper terrain
  • Vary turn shape and frequency on steeper terrain
  • Confidently try challenging new skills

Key Goals

  • Develop and refine specific elements of your boarding.
  • Build confidence in different terrain
  • Establish stronger fundamental habits to allow you to ride more advanced terrain
  • Receive personal feedback on skiing performance
