Ages 8 - 17
Develop freestyle skills with a focus on the Advanced Terrain Park, halfpipe, and hybrid airbag.
The Advanced Snowboard program is for skiers ages 8-17 who are interested in elevating their freestyle skiing to the next level, considering club competition, or looking for a higher level of freestyle coaching. Athletes will be introduced to large jumps, rails, 360s, and spins off boxes. Coaching builds upon skills developed in the Intermediate and Advanced Terrain Park and halfpipe.
Training sessions are three hours (weekdays) or five hours (Saturdays) and offer advanced coaching to promote athlete development. Athletes in the Advanced Ski program are at the Learn to Train level of Freestyle Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development model (LTAD) who are looking to progress their riding skills and/or are interested in attending future freestyle competitions.
These Lessons utilize the Advanced Terrain Park with XL Features that require expert/advanced riding skills. Please click below for further information.

Structure: Athletes can train once a week, or more as needed! If you are looking to progress faster or train more frequently, you can register for as many sessions as you wish.
Duration: Offered in season-long, January-start, and spring program formats. Full-season and January-start programs end the week of March 17-23, unless extended one week if any sessions are cancelled by WinSport due to weather. Spring programs end in the final week of March.
Group formation: Groups will be based on similar participant skill levels and ages, and may be combined at times.
Key Goals
- Terrain exploration: Continued development using our terrain-based learning areas and halfpipe where you will learn line choice, how to air out of the halfpipe, and basic spins and grabs in the halfpipe.
- Expanded coaching on jumps, boxes, and rails: Learn to hit jumps and boxes switch, land 360’s in multiple directions, attempt new grabs, take multiple approaches to rails and boxes, and learn to exit boxes switch. Master riding from feature to feature with flow and purpose, creating a plan for each feature you hit.
- Jump techniques: Master jumps in the Intermediate Terrain Park and begin taking your tricks into the Advanced Terrain Park.
- Hybrid airbag: Learn new skills, techniques, and air awareness for practical on-snow use.
