A legacy born in Calgary
During the 1988 Winter Games, pin trading became a full-blown spectator phenomenon. Downtown Calgary and Olympic venues buzzed with activity as tens of thousands of visitors lined up, traded, and connected — for many, the pin-trading experience was as memorable as the sport itself. That energy helped inspire the creation of the Calgary International Pin Club, which continues to keep the tradition alive today.
Donate your Calgary 1988 Olympic pins
WinSport is also collecting Calgary 1988 Olympic pins in support of an exciting new secret project for the renovated Day Lodge.
We’re looking for nearly 2,000 pins — so check your basement, attic, or junk drawer and bring any pins you no longer want. Donation boxes will be available at Pinfest*.
Watch for the special unveiling later this year.
*Pins are accepted by donation only. No tax receipts will be issued.
Come for the pins. Stay for the stories. Relive the magic of Calgary ’88 at Pinfest 2026.
