Bring the noise for Team Canada at the World Women's Curling Championship
Mar 13, 2026
Canadian curling superstar Kerri Einarson is seeking to add a world title to her stellar resume.
You can help her accomplish that goal.
The 2026 BKT World Women’s Curling Championship runs March 14-22 at WinSport Event Centre and after their final practice session on Friday, Einarson and her teammates agreed the support of the home crowd should give them a boost against a dozen other rinks from around the globe.
It’s not too late to secure your seats for either the round-robin or playoffs, with a variety of options ranging from single-draw to full-event packages.
Tickets are available online or the on-site box office will be open daily, with a complete list of hours below.
“It’s going to be nice to have packed stands,” said Einarson, who earned the honour of skipping Team Canada by winning the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. “When everyone is cheering for you, it just gives you those goosebumps. I always get them.
“Regardless of what’s happening, you know they’re always going to support us, so we’ll definitely be feeling the love this week.”
Karlee Burgess, who throws lead rocks for the Manitoba-based Team Einarson, can’t wait to hear those hoots and hollers.
It could provide an advantage for the host Canadians as they shoot first for one of six berths in the playoff round.
The field for the 2026 BKT World Women’s Curling Championship also includes Australia, China, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Korea, Norway, Scotland, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey and the United States, with several of these rinks recently returned from the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.
“The crowd just fires you up,” said Burgess, who was a three-time world junior champion before she joined Team Einarson. “Getting to have a full venue and people cheering and roaring, it makes you that much more excited when you make a nice shot. It’s that adrenaline rush.
“It honestly just makes curling so much more fun, for the spectators and for the players. I love the atmosphere.”
It’s not just the patriotic crowd that will make WinSport Event Centre feel like home for Einarson and her team of Val Sweeting, Shannon Birchard and Burgess.
They have all competed on this ice before. Einarson, Sweeting and Birchard represented Canada at the 2021 World Women’s Curling Championship at WinSport, but that international showdown was played without spectators due to pandemic restrictions.
“We love this facility,” Einarson said.
They’ll have even more reason to love it if they can capture the world crown.
In three previous trips to the world championship, Einarson has so far collected a pair of bronze medals. She’d love to add a gold to her collection.
“It would definitely mean the world to us,” Einarson said.
“It would be a highlight, for sure,” Burgess agreed. “I think winning your first world championship would be a memory that I’d have stuck in my head forever — replay, replay, replay. It’s a long week, but I’m really hoping for that.”
And you can help. Secure your seats before they are gone.
