Ages 6 - 14
Have fun, build confidence, and develop the skills to take on steeper terrain and explore alpine racing. Designed for intermediate skiers ages 6-14, this multi-discipline program introduces racing fundamentals such as skating starts, carving, race tucks, and skiing brush and stubbie courses. Athletes will also develop freestyle skills and learn Terrain Park safety in the Beginner and Intermediate Terrain Parks.

A Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement(s) ("Waiver") must be completed prior to the issuance and use of a WinSport ticket or pass (“Pass”), participation in a program, lesson, camp or event, rental of equipment and associated access to WinSport's facilities. If the required Waiver is not completed, a refund will be provided.
All Passes are non-transferable and remain the property of WinSport. Access and enrollment is revocable without refund in the event of misconduct. Cancellation of Passes or enrollment in programs and refunds are subject to WinSport’s Refund Policy.

Program format: Offered in two formats:
- Full Season
- January Start
Each program includes one 2.5-hour session per week.
Group formation: Offered in two age groups: 6-10 and 10-14. Groups are based on age and skill level and may be combined when appropriate.
Key goals
- All-mountain skills: Confidently carving on Green and Blue terrain.
- Terrain exploration: Athletes will learn how to adjust their turn shape and type to control both speed and direction. This will be done on Intermediate and Advanced groomed terrain and basic racecourses (with brushes and stubbies).
- Introduction to race techniques: Gain an introduction to race techniques such as skating starts, speed tucks, and early edge engagement.
- Introduction to gates: Starting with parallel skiing, athletes will progress to brushies and then to stubby gates.
- Introduction to freestyle: On natural or man-made features, learn the basics of jumping including proper take-off, landing, and timing techniques as well as sliding on and off small to medium box features.
- Safety: Understand and follow alpine racing and Terrain Park safety guidelines.
Prerequisites
- Completion of a Snow School Intermediate (Level 4) program (or equivalent experience).
- Confident on Blue terrain and able to make controlled turns on groomed Black terrain.
- Able to load and unload chairlift without assistance.
Inclusions
Hill access is not included. A valid lift pass is required and must be purchased separately; registered athletes are eligible to purchase a Winter Seasons Pass at the Early Bird rate.
Mandatory Equipment
Athletes need to have their own equipment, including skis with quality metal edges and brakes, boots, and a CSA- approved snow sport helmet.
