Our chefs at Winebar Kensington share a common bond in their Ukrainian and Polish heritage. This vegan food + drink dinner is inspired by a return to their kitchen roots, to the dishes that bring back childhood memories and of the flavours that mimic their upbringing. This dinner is about the relationship between food, family and tradition.
Chef Mitchell Carey began his career in food after developing an affinity for cooking in Junior High School, an interest sparked by his grandmother's food-centered family traditions. He received his red seal in 2014 from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and trained under talented chefs at Sugo, Ox & Angela, Q Haute Cuisine, as well as staging with Brandon Baltzey in the USA. Chef Mitchell's style showcases simple flavour combinations, quality ingredients, and an edge of modernist techniques. Also participating at the PLANTED kick-off event at WinSport on March 28, 2019
