WinSport works with athletes at every level to unleash athletic potential. Through our focus on Athlete Development we address the building blocks of physical conditioning to help you realize your potential as an athlete and prepare you to perform your best.

All Athlete Development programs provided by WinSport use the established Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework and scientifically-driven performance strategy to guide our programming decisions and training for all athletes on our campus. In the programs offered below, you will note the identified LTAD stages such as Learn to Train/Train to Train/Train to Compete, and these designations mean our coaches provide the right training for each athlete based on age and stage of growth and development.

Junior Performance Prep Program – Ages 8-12 (Learn to Train)

Who is this program for?

This program is designed for recreational and competitive athletes ages 8-12 and drills and exercises will be scaled to the participants’ current level of development so everyone will be appropriately challenged and supported.

Program outcome

This 12-week program is built to supplement your existing sport activities or as a stand-alone physical education and conditioning program. It focuses on developing your skills and abilities as an athlete.

Through varied training sessions, you will explore and learn foundational sport skills (e.g. agility, balance, coordination, jumping, climbing, hopping, skipping, throwing, dribbling, kicking, hitting and catching) and address the building blocks of physical conditioning to help you realize your potential as an athlete and create opportunities to experience multiple sports.

All registered participants will receive an Under Armour training shirt.

Performance Prep Program – Ages 13-18 (Train to Train/Train to Compete)

Who is this program for?

This program is designed for development and competitive athletes ages 13-18 who are looking for a general baseline conditioning program to kickstart their fitness prior to engaging in more sport-specific conditioning programs.

Program outcome

This eight-week general preparation strength and conditioning program will help you develop a strong understanding and foundation of fitness and refine your movement competency to prepare you for individual sport-specific training and competition. You will also have opportunities to practice your sport skills and further develop your skills and abilities as an athlete with supplemental cross-sport activities.

What is included

  • Initial consultation/pre-screening with a WinSport Strength and Conditioning coach
  • 75 minute semi-private coaching sessions at the Performance Training Centre
  • Supplementary training program design
  • All registered participants will receive an Under Armour training shirt

Custom Performance Prep Program Ages 13 -18 (Train to Train/Train to Compete)

Who is this program for?

This program is designed for development and competitive athletes ages 13-18 who are looking for customized sport-specific conditioning programs to support performance for their competitive seasons.

Program outcome

This eight-week strength and conditioning program will help you develop specific conditioning elements to support your individual sport performance goals, maintain foundational fitness, and refine your movement competency to prepare you for your competitive season.

What is included

  • Initial consultation/pre-screening with WinSport’s Athlete Development Specialist and Strength and Conditioning coach
  • Development of a customized, periodized training program to support your individual sport specific training and competition goals
  • A one hour 1:1 orientation session to your customized program
  • Three 75-minute semi-private coaching sessions per week at the Performance Training Centre
  • Supplementary training program design
  • All registered participants will receive an Under Armour training shirt

Hockey In-Season Training and Conditioning – Ages 13-16 (Train to Train/Train to Compete)
The WinSport Strength and Conditioning Team is pleased to offer off-ice dryland conditioning programs for Bantam and Midget hockey players.

Who is this program for?

Development and competitive hockey players at the Bantam and Midget levels.

Program Outcome

This 8-week program is built to supplement your hockey-specific training and competition.

This program will optimize performance during key competitive windows of the season. We will address muscle mass and strength retention, maintenance of speed, power and agility, mobility, stability, recovery and teach athletes activation techniques pre-competition.

Rugby Off-Season Strength & Conditioning - Ages 14-18 Girls Only (Train to Train/Train to Compete)
The WinSport Strength and Conditioning Team, led by premier female rugby players, is pleased to offer comprehensive girls only off-season conditioning programs.

Who is this program for?

Development and competitive female rugby players at the U16 and U18 levels.

Program Outcome

The program is designed to optimize key components of rugby fitness to achieve peak performances for pre-season evaluations and in-season play. Programs are offered in two 12-week blocks and are created to progressively build on one another, however participants can register for individual blocks or a combination of the two.

All registered participants will receive an Under Armour training shirt.

PHASE 1 (2X/WEEK)
Build Stamina - Develop the building blocks of rugby conditioning with a solid base of aerobic and muscular endurance, mobility, flexibility and movement competency, to improve overall stamina, promote recovery during training and competition, and enhance movement quality.

Build Muscle Mass I - Develop muscle mass, strength and greater overall tolerance to high intensity training (anaerobic tolerance) and game-play.

PHASE 2 (3X/WEEK)
Build Muscle Mass II - Develop muscle mass, strength and continued tolerance to high intensity training, and lay the foundations for the development of speed and power.

Get Fast - Develop speed, explosive power and agility to prepare for evaluations and the season ahead.

SkiFit Program - Ages 18+
Take this opportunity to have your best season yet! In a performance-focused environment, WinSport and Rossignol’s SkiFit Program will utilize premier facilities to set you up for success this winter. In this 6-week preseason program or 8-week in-season program, our Strength and Conditioning Coaches will have you skiing or snowboarding like never before by focusing on movement competency, balance, stability, agility, lower body and core strength. The SkiFit Program is comprised of a series of progressive fitness sessions, open to all levels of skiers and snowboarders and will reduce muscle soreness and fatigue, lower the risk of injury, and improve your overall fitness. Make the most of your time on the slopes this winter!

Who is this program for?

18+ individuals that are looking to get back into strength training before the ski/snowboard season.

SkiFit Pre-Season Program » SkiFit In-Season Program »
Discover Olympic Lifting Program - Ages 18+
An introductory class structured to teach beginners the fundamental positions and movements of Olympic lifting.  Individuals with little to no experience will benefit the most from these classes. Athletes who would like to take a step back from their existing routines, and relearn the basics are also welcome. Focus will be placed on ingraining proper motor patterns and utilizing drills to teach the ‘feel’ of Olympic lifting. Classes will be once a week for 75 minutes, feature a structured warm-up and mobility-based cool-down.

Who is this program for?

Individuals with little to no experience with Olympic Lifting or those looking to relearn the basics.

Program Outcome

Knowledge of the fundamental positions and movements of Olympic lifting.

What is included?

1 Under Armour training shirt included.

Prerequisites

  • Must be able to front squat an empty barbell (20kg)
  • Must be able to hold a deep body weight squat for 20 seconds
  • Must not have any chronic joint or bone issues

Same as individul training, but with 2-5 athletes.

Written Program Package:

For athletes or teams requiring programming guidance, allowing them to train on their own. Receive 6 weeks programming (5 days/week) to address all fitness components relevant to the training cycle goals, and a 1:1 training program orientation with a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Pair this service with memberships to one of our training facilities.

Performance Road - Mapping

Our performance road mapping services:

Our consultative services include, but are not limited to:
  • Sport KPI (key performance indicator) evaluations and strategy planning for sport coaches and athletes.
  • Yearly training plan (YTP) evaluations, planning and development for sport coaches and athletes.
  • Integrated support team service recommendations and referrals, where applicable (e.g. sport medicine, sport nutrition, sport psychology).
  • Educational sessions, seminars etc. for your key stakeholders (e.g. parents, coaches and athletes).
