Discover our exhilarating Women’s Wednesday program and embrace adventure on our WinSport trail network, navigate nearby Paskapoo slopes in our offsite activities and refine skills at our exclusive program Skills Centre. Whether you're a beginner or a strong intermediate rider, our program offers tailored instruction, empowering you to conquer trails with confidence. Experience the thrill of outdoor exploration, build fundamental riding skills, and connect with a supportive community of fellow female riders.

All groups will be organized by level and are taught to the lowest riding level in each group. Based on registration numbers groups may have to be combined.

Lessons are 2 hours in length. Lift will not be accessible for spring programs. Levels may be combined based on registration.

TERMS OF CONTRACT

IMPORTANT – WAIVERS REQUIRED

A Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement ("Waiver") must be completed prior to participation in WinSport’s Programs, Lessons, and Camps and, if applicable, rental of Equipment. If the applicable Waiver is not completed, participation in the WinSport Program, access to WinSport’s facilities and/or rental of Equipment will not be permitted, and a refund will be provided.

The Waiver will be available for completion during the sales process, and a copy is available for preview below.

  • Each adult participant must complete their own Waiver
  • A Parent/guardian must complete the Waiver for their minor/child participant 

PLEASE READ THE WAIVER CAREFULLY! By signing, you will waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue for negligence, breach of contract, or breach of the Occupiers’ Liability Act or claim compensation following an accident.

We do not guarantee bike park or trail conditions, weather or other operating conditions including open terrain or lift operation.

NO FOOT TRAFFIC ALLOWED IN BIKE PARK

For the safety of WinSport’s guests, there is no foot traffic allowed or Bike Park viewing of lessons. Parents are not allowed in the Bike Park without mountain bike equipment and a valid ticket/pass. Only persons with a valid ticket/pass who are biking with appropriate equipment will be permitted in the Bike Park.

Women's Wednesdays - Beginner (Level 1)

Explore the basics of mountain biking such as braking, body position, and turning to explore your first mountain bike trails. Our coaches will build your confidence to practice new skills on new trails.

Expected Level of Trails/Features

Level 1 groups will start the week on Green trails such as Gromville, Green Freeride 1, and Green XC Loop, and eventually aim to progress to more difficult Green trails such as Strawberry Shortcake, and Gnarnia, accessing both freeride and technical terrain and features requiring jump skills. This group will not access any chairlift trails.

Pre-requisites

  • Comfortable riding on pavement and wide gravel but has never mountain biked before
  • Comfortable maintaining balance and using front and back brakes
  • Little to no previous experience on any mountain bike trails

Key Goals

  • Learn basic skills such as body positioning, gearing, and braking
  • Gain confidence stopping, steering, and changing direction
    Progress from primarily pavement-based trails to Green trails

Equipment Required

  • Front and rear brakes required
  • Front suspension required
  • Minimum helmet requirement: Half-shell [full-face helmet to be worn on downhill trails if brought to camp by participant]

Women's Wednesdays - Novice (Level 2)

Progress your basic skills onto your first Blue Trails, riding with more fluidity and control. Our coaches will begin introducing more techniques and trails to your learning.

Expected Level of Trails/Features

Level 2 groups will start on Green trails progressing to Blue trails, accessing both freeride and technical terrain and features requiring jump skills. This group will aim to access the chair lift trail network on the final day of their program via up-track riding.

Pre-requisites

  • Comfortable riding on some Green trails
  • Confident riding on bumpy, rocky, and root-covered trails
  • Confident riding sections of trails without putting a foot down
  • Little to no previous experience on Blue trails and capable of riding across a 5 km cross-country loop

Key Goals

  • Continue progressing your basic skills on more technical trails
  • Improve cornering, body position, and steering to ride more fluidly
  • Progress from Green trails to easy Blue trails

  • Front and rear disc brakes recommended
  • Front suspension required
  • Minimum helmet requirement: Half-shell [full-face helmet to be worn on downhill trails if brought to camp by participant]

Women's Wednesdays - Intermediate (Level 3)

Learn the fundamental skills required to take on Blue features, and lift accessible Blue trails. Our coaches will train riding with more technique to continue expanding the number and difficulty of the trails you can ride.

Expected Level of Trails/Features

Level 3 groups will start the week on Green and Blue trails aiming to progress to more difficult Blue trails, accessing both freeride and technical terrain and features requiring jump skills. This group will aim to access the chair lift trail network on the penultimate day of the program via up-track riding.

Pre-requisites

  • Comfortable riding on most Green trails
  • Experienced shifting gears, riding both uphill and downhill, and on rocky, rooted, and bumpy trails
  • Little to no previous experience on lift-accessed trails and capable of riding across a 7-9 km cross-country loop

Key Goals

  • Further develop your basic skills to improve your speed on trails
  • Learn to ride Blue Features, and develop line selection
  • Expand the number of Green and Blue trails you can comfortably ride

  • Front and rear brakes required
  • Front suspension required
  • Minimum helmet requirement: Half-shell [full-face helmet to be worn on downhill trails if brought to camp by participant]
  • Knee & elbow pads recommended

Women's Wednesdays - Strong Intermediate (Level 4)

Increase your riding at speed on technical trails, including your first Black trail. Coaches will focus on refining your skills to ride faster, more fluidly and with more confidence.

Expected Level of Trails/Features

Level 4 groups will start the week on Blue trails aiming to progress to more difficult Blue trails, accessing both freeride and technical terrain and features requiring jump skills. This group will aim to access the chair lift trail network on the second day of their program via up-track riding.

Pre-requisites

  • Comfortable riding on Blue trails
  • Confident riding at a moderate and safe speed while carrying momentum on trails
  • Moderate experience on lift-accessed trails and capable of riding across a 9-11 km cross-country loop

Key Goals

  • Develop your skills to experience larger Blue features and more technical trails at a safe speed
  • Progress your skills, line selection, body positioning, and cornering to access Black trails
  • Complete all Blue trails and progress to Black trails
