Develop speed and style in our August Downhill programs. Our certified coaches will give you tips and tools to improve technique and build confidence on advanced terrain.

Improve control, endurance and efficiency, and learn to go faster as you continually progress your riding over eight sessions.

Note: Lift access is included in these programs

Downhill Development - Mini (Level 6)

The Mini Development downhill program caters to children ages 7-10 years old, who have a need for speed and a knack for catching air. To be ready for this program, your child should already be comfortable riding all trails in the East Trees as well as Dragon Slayer (West Trees)

Pre-requisites

  • Brake efficiently to remain in control on Blue terrain.
  • Shift gears efficiently to maintain speed through technical Blue terrain.
  • Can confidently hit small jumps and drops while showing control.
  • Is confident riding all trails in the East Trees as well as Dragon Slayer (West Trees).
  • Comfortable riding for 3+ hours

Equipment Required

  • Front and rear disk brakes required
  • Front suspension required
  • Rear suspension recommended
  • Dropper post recommended
  • Full Face helmet strongly recommended
  • Knee pads strongly recommended
  • Other Body Armour such as neck brace, chest/back protector, elbow pads
    recommended

Key Goals

  • Developing pressure control to generate speed.
  • Improving speed and control in flat/bermed corners
  • Distinguish safe, fast and efficient line choice in technical sections
  • Air over medium sized jumps and drops while maintining proper positioning.
  • Use maneuvers to make it over obstacles on a blue or easy black trail
  • Shift gears efficiently to maintain speed through technical Blue and easier Black terrain; introduced to "ghost shifting

Downhill Development - Grom (Level 6)

The Grom Development downhill program caters to riders ages 10-14 years old who want to go faster or are interested in training for races/events. Athletes will develop speed, style, control and endurance over 8 training sessions. To be ready for this program, your child should already be introduced to larger table top jumps (Safari Planet or Black Freeride 1 & 2 trails).

  • Shift gears efficiently to maintain speed through technical Blue and easy Black terrain.
  • Can confidently hit medium sized jumps and drops while showing control.
  • Is confident riding all trails in the East Trees as well as Dragon Slayer (West Trees).
  • Introduced to larger table top jumps (Safari Planet or Black Freeride 1 & 2 trails)
  • Comfortable riding for 3+ hours

Downhill Development - Fast & Furious Adult (Level 6)

The Fast & Furious Adult downhill program caters to riders age 18+  who want to be faster on the trails or are interested in training for races and events. You'll develop speed, style, control and endurance over eight training sessions. At the end of every Thursday night we will head to the in the EIGHTYEIGHT Bar & Grill to network and enjoy some refreshments.

To be ready for this program, you should already be introduced to larger table top jumps (Safari Planet or Black Freeride 1 & 2 trails).

  • Brake efficiently to remain in control on Blue & easy Black terrain.
  • Shift gears efficiently to maintain speed through technical Blue and easy Black terrain.
