Challenge yourself on new terrain while recieving tips, tools and feedback to improve your riding in our Adult Coed Spring programs. Our experienced instructors will help you progress in a fun and safe environment. Register for our beginner, intermediate or Enduro programs and take your riding to the next level.

Note: These programs do not include chairlift access in the spring.

Adult Mountain Bike - Level Beginner

The beginner program prepares newer riders for more different kinds of terrain. Our coaches will give tips, tactics and feedback to improve your riding! To be prepared for this level, you should already be comfortable riding on pathways and gentle terrain.

Pre-requisites

  • Can ride on pathways and gentle terrain
  • Use brakes to stop on Green (beginner) terrain.
  • Understand the difference between high or low gear.

Equipment Requirements

  • Front and rear disk brakes required
  • Front suspension required
  • Helmet required

Key Goals

  • Can pedal and stay balanced while standing up off the seat on gentle or Green (beginner) terrain.
  • Safe use of front and back brakes on Green terrain.
  • Understand the difference between high and low gear.
  • Can shift gears correctly to climb up on Green terrain.

IMPORTANT – WAIVERS REQUIRED

Participation in WinSport’s Mountain Bike programs, lessons and camps (the Program”) is subject to completion of WinSport’s Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreements (the “Waivers”) by the participant or their parent/legal guardian prior to the first day of the Program. PLEASE READ THESE WAIVERS CAREFULLY! By signing, you will waive or give up certain legal rights including the right to sue for negligence, breach of contract, or breach of the Occupiers’ Liability Act or claim compensation following an accident. Adult Mountain Bike - Level Intermediate

The intermediate program prepares riders for more challenging terrain. Our coaches will give tips, tactics and feedback to improve your riding! To be prepared for this level, you should already be comfortable riding in a standing ‘ready’ position on Green (beginner) and easier Blue (intermediate) terrain.

Pre-requisites

  • Ride in a standing 'ready' position on blue terrain.
  • Controlled use of front and back brakes on Green ang gentle Blue (intermediate) terrain.
  • Can shift gears correctly to climb or descend Green terrain more easily.
  • Can choose the appropriate line to maneuver around obstacles on the trail.

Equipment Requirements

  • Front and rear disk brakes required
  • Front suspension required
  • Helmet required
  • Knee & elbow pads recommended

Key Goals

  • Can show a proper ‘climbing’, ‘ready’ or 'downhill' position while riding up or down Blue (intermediate) terrain.
  • Efficient use of front and back brakes on Blue terrain to maintain traction andcontrol.
  • Shift gears correctly to go up or down Green (beginner) or Blue terrain while maintaining speed.
  • Maneuver around small obstacles (sticks, rocks, puddles) on Green or Blue terrain.

Adult Mountain Bike - Level Enduro

The Enduro program helps riders refine their riding and build confidence on more challenging terrain. Our coaches will give tips, tactics and feedback to improve your riding! To be prepared for this level, you should already be comfortable riding in a standing ‘ready’ position on technical Blue (intermediate) terrain.

Pre-requisites

  • Can show a proper ‘climbing’, ‘ready’ or 'downhill' position while riding down Blue (intermediate) terrain.
  • Efficient use of front and back brakes on Blue terrain to maintain traction andcontrol.
  • Shift gears correctly to go up or down Green (beginner) or Blue (intermediate) terrain while maintaining speed.
  • Maneuver around small obstacles (sticks, rocks, puddles) on Green or Blue terrain.

  • Dropper post recommended
  • Helmet required
  • Knee & elbow pads recommended

Key Goals

  • Brake efficiently to maintain speed in corners and technical sections
  • Use pressure control to generate speed.
  • Use rotation to improve cornering
  • Distinguish safe, fast and efficient line choice in technical sections
  • Ride over features with correct body positioning.
  • Learn different maneuvers such as a bunny hop, front wheel lift and rear wheel lift.
  • Shift gears efficiently to maintain speed through technical Blue and Black (advanced) terrain

Adult Mountain Bike - Level Freeride

Charge through steeper, more technical terrain and build confidence in our Adult Freeride programs. Our coaches will give you the tips and tactics you need to help tackle challenging terrain and features with ease. To be prepared for this level, you should already be comfortable riding on Blue (intermediate) or mild Black (advanced) terrain.

  • Can show a proper ‘climbing’, ‘ready’ or 'downhill' position while riding down Blue (intermediate) terrain.
  • Efficient use of front and back brakes on Blue terrain to maintain traction andcontrol.
