The Adult beginner program prepares newer riders for different kinds of terrain. Our coaches will give tips, tactics and feedback to improve your confidence on the trails. To be prepared for this level, you should already be comfortable riding on pathways and gentle terrain.
Pre-requisites
- Can pedal and stay balanced on Green (beginner) terrain.
- Can sometimes stand up off the seat while riding over bumpy terrain.
- Can comfortably stop, steer and change direction.
- Introduced to using gears.
Equipment Requirements
- Front and rear disk brakes required
- Front suspension required
- Certified/Approved Helmet required
Key Goals
- Can ride while standing up off the seat when descending down a Green trail.
- Can show a proper ‘climbing’ or ‘ready’ position.
- Use both front and back brakes to safely come to a stop.
- Can shift gears appropriately for uphill or downhill riding.
- Can ride around small obstacles (sticks, rocks, puddles) on Green or easier Blue terrain.
IMPORTANT – WAIVER(S) REQUIRED
A Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement ("Waiver") must be completed prior to participation in any WinSport Programs, Lessons, and Camps. If the applicable Waiver(s) is/are not completed, participation in the WinSport Program and access to WinSport's facilities will not be permitted, and a refund will be provided.

The Adult intermediate program prepares confident riders for more challenging terrain. Our coaches will give tips, tactics and feedback to improve your skills on more technical terrain. To be prepared for this level, you should already be comfortable riding in a standing ‘ready’ position on Green (beginner) and easier Blue (intermediate) terrain.
Pre-requisites
- Can ride while standing up off the seat when descending down Green and easier Blue terrain.
- Can show a proper ‘climbing’ or ‘ready’ position.
- Use both front and back brakes to safely come to a stop.
- Can shift gears appropriately for uphill or downhill riding.
- Can ride around small obstacles (sticks, rocks, puddles) on Green or easier Blue terrain.
Equipment Requirements
- Front and rear disk brakes required
- Front suspension required
- Certified/Approved Helmet required
- Knee & elbow pads recommended
Key Goals
- Can use correct uphill or downhill position on most Blue (intermediate) terrain
- Can adjust use of brakes to maintain traction and stay in control.
- Shifting gears through changing terrain to maintain a proper cadence.
- Can ride over small obstacles (sticks, rocks, etc.) with correct body position at trail speed.
- Can show proper technique over a small jump.
- Scan the trail and choose the appropriate line on a Blue trail.
- Introduced to maneauvers like "rear wheel lifts", "roll in's" and "bunny hops", etc.
