Known as the fastest ice in the world, the Olympic Oval was the first covered speed skating oval in North America and played host to short and long track events during the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. Located at the University of Calgary, the Olympic Oval continues to be recognized as one of the world’s premier training and competition venues and boasts over 150 world records set in long and short track speed skating over the past 20 years! Long track World Cup events are held at the Oval every year.

The Oval is comprised of three ice surfaces - one 400m oval ice for long track speed skating and two international size rinks for hockey and short track. WinSport continues to financially support the facility as part of the continuing legacy of the ’88 Games.
